A tight achilles can be associated with many problems in the foot, ankle, and leg. A tight achilles tendon is commonly associated with plantar fasciitis.
It is best to get in the habit of stretching. Many times when it starts to feel better people stop stretching. However, the muscle will quickly contract back to where it was before it was before it was stretched.
You can even do this stretch while lying in bed!
